Last thursday George finally purchased his very 1st DSLR camera, after itchy for one year!! He really can "tahan" yea.. lolz.. Definitely I support him for his decision as he loves photography and it's good that he can shoot nice photo for me to post to my blog !!! wahaha ...

He bought Nikkor AF-S DX VR 18-200mm F3.5-5.6G lens as well ..

The next day he can't wait to try it out.. we went random shooting at the pool side of our apartment ..

ATTENTION Porky's lover!!! You wouldn't want to miss this, as I'm recommending you a yummy nice pork specialized cafe : Sanbanto Premium Pork Cafe

It's located at SS2 Petaling Jaya, same row as the dessert shop 记得食 & Yu Yan Sang.

The uniqueness of Sanbanto is they sell fresh pork also starting from 7am to 8pm daily. They are pasar and they are cafe at the same time.. cool rite?

There's a counter selling fresh pork at the entrance of the shop.. A blackboard showing the type of pork and price of it..

Oh no!! I found some dead bodies in the freezer room of this shop!!!

No worries, it won't affect your appetite as you won't notice it. It just seen as dark glass room if they didn't turn on the light.

Okie.. back to the foods!
Their menu is freaky simple, which is just one piece of folded double printed A4 paper!! They are selling western style food, which is really hard to guess from their shop name ...

Look at it... it's with layers of sinful yet delicious fat and meat.. soft, juicy and melted immediately in mouth...it matched perfectly with the BBQ sauce as well

The minced pork liver is to eat with french toasted .. I didn't try it as I don't eat inner parts, but according to Holly it tastes a bit weird but still nice to eat ...

The shop is quite occupied with the fresh pork stalls, freezer room and the kitchen, left with limited seats for guests.. so i will strongly recommend you to call for table reservation before you pay a visit.

They took the photo at La Diva Bridal House, which located at Nusa Bestari, Johor Bahru. The whole package cost them RM2688, not really sure what is included. By looking at the quality of their photo, I personally think that it's worth the price!!

一层层白色的淡奶油。。一层层抹茶口味蛋糕。。中间还夹了些许红豆。。

表层用抹茶粉铺成方块状。。浓浓的抹茶芳香，不油不腻，也不会太甜，这就是我喜欢它的原因了！

Weekend Sushi Treat at Sushi Zanmai

Japanese food lover in KL will sure know about Sushi Zanmai. Me and George wanted to try it out few times but give up after seeing the long queue. It got three outlets : Sunway Pyramid, The Garden and 1-Utama, and famous with the cheaper price.

Last weekend, before watching Transformer, we finally get to try it out. We still need to queue up, but it's not the usual long queue since it's still early.

Same as the other Japanese restaurant layout, There's conveyor sushi belt at the center, and chefs making sushi right in front of you.

Okie, time to decide what to order. I noticed the phase on the menu : "Flower needs Water, Human needs Love, Cooking needs Heart" .. Indeed true!!

A must have dish will be my favourite Chawanmushi. It's cheaper here, cost RM4.80, and got a big prawn inside!

Inari Kani Ebikko, RM3.80

Sushi Tobikko, cost RM4.80

Atsuyaki Tamago (Japanese Omelette) @ RM6.00, one of my favourite.

Dai Dai Roll (Crabmeat sushi roll topped with salmon and shrimp roe) @ RM12.80

Soft Shell Crab Maki @ RM6.00, very nice, crispy soft shell crab wrapped with tender soft Japanese rice...Yummy !!

Unagi Don (Large) @ RM26.80, a bit pricey but the unagi is cooked just right. You can choose small one @ the half price by getting the half size of this.

Here got plenty choice of dessert, so I can't resist to order one to try out. We had Macha Monaka - Green tea wafer ice cream with red bean, @ RM8.00. It's really nice to eat with the waffle.

It's nice!!! The green tea ice cream is rich of green tea taste and not too sweet.

Not yet try out Sushi Zanmai? Do try it out as it is really not bad.

Ole Ole Bali - A trip to Solaris Mont Kiara

Nowadays seems Solaris Mont Kiara is a hot place for diners and clubbing kaki. All I know about Solaris Mont Kiara is that I always saw it lighted at night beside the highway, when I travelling in and out of Kuala Lumpur. Do not want to stay outdated; me and George decided to explore it out on one of the Friday night.

Finally we found our way to SohoKL via Sri Hartamas. For those who don’t know about it, SohoKL is a 1-stop hub comprising of the worlds finest in international cuisines and clubbing scenes.

As we are not so into clubbing, we focused our mind on those dining place. Finally, we decided to try out Ole Ole Bali, as I am quite impressed by its design and atmosphere.

The shop name explained everything; it’s a Bali style restaurant selling Bali’s food. It was quite crowded, so I guess shouldn’t be too bad. The outlet here has two floors and a pretty huge dining area outside the restaurant (smoking area). We are lead to the second floor, and we choose to sit on the Japanese Style “Tatami”. From our seat view down to the ground floor, we could have a full view of the open kitchen.

Time to decide what to eat, let’s have a look on the menu: A lot of grilled stuff in this restaurant and also Bali style’s rice set. Since already have enough Ayam Betutu and various kind of rice during my recent visit to Bali, we decided to go for something different.

First, we ordered Ole Ole Trio @ RM38 from Balinese Specialties menu. It consists of 3 nicest starters: Ole-Ole BBQ Wings, Sate Lilit and Cumi-Cumi Goreng and served with Sambel Matah (Lemongrass sambal), Sambel Terasi and Tartar sauce.

Cumi-Cumi Goreng (deep fried squid) is crispy and nice.

The best of these 3 should be Sate Lilit. It is basically barbecued mix seafood paste wrapped around a lemongrass stalk. It tastes much better than the one I tried in Bali, soft and unique texture with strong fragrance of the lemongrass.

The Ole-Ole BBQ Wings are not bad, but I found nothing special about it. Too much of it make me feel very oily.

Next up is the Grilled Beef Steak Sandwich @ RM23. The half cooked beef steak taste nice with onions and BBQ sauce, and the meat is tender soft. However, the sandwich bread is a bit hard which minus some mark. It served together with fries and it’s indeed a filling dish after all…

After eating all the fried and grilled food, is best to have a cup of hot honey lemon @ RM6. It served together with a piece of peanut biscuit, which is sweet and nice.

Overall the food here is considered ok; just that too much of grilled and fried stuff make me feel quite oily. The price is quite expensive, not everyone can afford it.

However, the atmosphere saves a lot of marks. There’s a lot of artwork round here, make me feel as I’m in a Balinese art gallery.

Give it a try if you are fancy of Balinese food and afford for the price, why not?

Sungai Klah Hot Spring and Teluk Intan Trip

Want a short weekend getaway? You might want to try out hot spring at Sungai Klah then. It just about an hour drives from KL after all. Or you might want to consider copying my Sungai Klah Hotspring – Menara Condong Teluk Intan – Teluk Intan “Chee Cheong Fun” one day trip itenary.

Sungai Klah Hot Spring Park started operation since December 2003 and is reputed to be one of the best managed hot spring park in Malaysia. Me and George tried it out last year and found that it is quite an ideal place to relax and de-stress, and it’s suitable to go as a family activity as well. It was quite crowded during our last visit, due to school holiday. So please don’t go on public holiday or school holiday if you want to avoid the crowd.

Getting there:
Take the Plus North South Highway and get out at the Sungkai toll plaza. Take the left turn towards Trolak at the T-junction after the toll plaza.

After driving about 500m from the T-junction, you should come across a turnoff on your left. There is a school at this turnoff called the Sekolah Menengah Sg Kruit.

Once you are in the turnoff, you will see many signboards that will lead you to the place.

You’ll need to purchase a ticket at the entrance, RM10 for Adult, RM8 for Children. The operation hour is from 8 am to 10 pm.

Hot Springs Swimming Pool

Cold water Swimming Pool ... Crowded!!

There are Hot spring Therapeutic Pools with temperature range from 40°C to 100°C too. There's a yellow plate showing the temperature of the hot spring pool. So, please consider before soaking your legs in.

We choose to try on hot spring range from 40°C - 50°C, since most of the aunty and uncle soaking their legs here.

The hot spring is really hot… After few minutes I started to sweat and my skin gone red…. Really hot!!! My blood must be circulated really fast that time...

If your family loves egg boiling activities, you'll love it here. The water temperature at this area can go up to 100 °C. The reading of the water temperature can be seen by the thermometer that is placed here. However, you’ll need to prepare your own tools for egg boiling --- Basket and eggs.. I didn’t get to boiled egg because I didn’t prepare the basket!!

For those prefer to have the privacy of soaking in a private atmosphere, try the normal or the superior private Jacuzzi. It cost RM75 per hour for a normal type and RM125 per hour for the superior type. Due to the crowd at the big hot spring pool, me and George decided to take the private Jacuzzi room. We didn’t book early, in order to not leave with disappointment; we also get the Traditional Local Massage that can guarantee us a private Jacuzzi room.

The normal private pool is quite big, and can soak like 5-7 people. So I think RM75 is quite worth as you can get privacy and enjoy the Jacuzzi as well as hot spring water… There’s also a massage room beside the pool, with bathing and changing facilities…

This is the Ayurveda massage that we tried. I can’t remember the price, but I don’t suggest you to try… They use oil (I’m not sure what kind of oil, but it got a weird smell) for massage, which is really oily and made me spent a extra long bathing time to get rid of the oil…

After the refreshing hot spring Jacuzzi bath, we headed to Teluk Intan, which is just an hour drive away by taking the old road. Visited “Menara Condong” and getting around Teluk Intan town.

It almost dinner time, so we look for the famous “Chee Cheong Fun” at Teluk Intan. After asking around, finally we found the factory. It only operate from evening to midnight.

After half an hour queue, we finally got our “Chee Cheong Fun” at RM3.00 per pack!! It is different with those “Chee Cheong Fun” we have in KL, there’s no sauce for it .. It with some minced pork filling and eat together with green chilies… Yummy… Me and George finish 3 packs of it and “tapao” some home ...

好久好久没有吃到妈妈的娘惹粽了! 有别于平常的肉粽, 妈的娘惹粽无法在外头买到, 所以异常的想念. 在端午节前, 忍不住打电话向妈妈撒娇, 告诉她我好想吃娘惹粽.. 没想到妈妈告诉我她会来吉隆玻, 可以带粽子来给我!! 吔!!! 好开心可以吃到久违的娘惹粽, 更开心可以见到妈妈..
It’s been years I didn’t get to eat my mum’s Nyonya dumpling. Really miss it, as it’s different with normal dumpling and can’t buy it elsewhere. So happy that my mum told me she will come KL and she can bring me the Nyonya dumpling! Horray!! I’m not only can eat Nyonya dumpling and can meet my mum..

看..这就是我妈的娘惹粽了! 虽然妈妈放我鸽子没来, 但她交代我的好友把粽子带给我..

Other than pork, chestnut and mushroom, my mum’s nyonya dumpling also added with rempah ingredient (some secret spice powder) and dry shrimp…

Garden Lifestyle Store and Cafe -- Fairyland for Diners!

After reading Shelyn's blog on Garden Cafe at 1 Utama, I finally got a chance to have dinner there with George. It's pretty hard to locate the shop, as 1U is like a labyrinth to me. After rang up Shelyn, consulted a know-nothing guard, finally I got the direction from the manager of Wah Chan. He told me Garden cafe is at LG and next to Studio R. There's another entrance through VOIR gallery also, so I believe they are under the same group.

It got a small reception next to the escalator. They have pretty reasonable price set lunch, from RM12.90 to RM19.90, served daily from 11am to 3pm.

Like it's name, Garden Cafe is decorated based on garden theme, which is a really nice concept! Imagine you are having tea and dinner in the garden, with lots of trees and flowers, it's feel like being in a fairyland.

The interior design is mainly made up by white and green.. White color wooden tables and chairs, a grand white piano as the centerpieces, with green artificial leaves and flowers nicely hanging along the ceiling to the wall.

I pretty admire their white color menu too.. It looks more like a scrapbook that suit to their garden theme.. those with little red beetles are their chef's recommended dish.

November birth month flower is Chrysanthemum, with a meaning of Cheerfulness, Rest and Compassion, which i think is rather match my characteristic !

Garden cafe is also a lifestyle store that sell all the decoration item in the cafe including those artificial flowers. The concept is same as Fullhouse at NZX.

Despite the ambience, I'm quite happy with their food quality and service as well. George let me decide what to order. To be safe, I ordered those chef's recommended dish.

Cream of H2O - Cress Soup (RM7.90) - Creamy watercress soup, it taste nice!

As a meat's lover I also get Braised Lamb Shank (RM29.90) - It served with mash potato and spicy ratatouille. The meat is tender and juicy, gravy taste nice. Overall it worth a rating of 8/10.

I ordered Black pepper chicken chop(RM17.90) for George. He is quite happy with it, but I think it will be better with more stronger black pepper taste. I will give it 6/10.

For drinks I ordered one pot of Lavendar flower tea (RM7.90) and their signature - Soda Rose (RM11.90). The soda rose is quite nice but i think the price is rather expensive.

It's more worth to order Flower tea because it's for 2pax serving and free to refill hot water. You may also refill flower tea by paying RM2.00

For dessert, we got Red Apple Sorbet (RM9.90). It's actually half apple with the ice cream fillings. A special and nice dessert it is !! They got a variety of sorbets choice - Green Apple Sorbet, Lemon Sorbet, Red Apple Sorbet, Coconut Sorbet, Pineapple Sorbet and Orange Sorbet.

Overall, Garden cafe is a nice place for foods and gathering with friends. Their service is up to standard and the staff there is quite friendly. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and all the readers.

Fresh river fish at Loong Sing Restaurant, Bukit Tinggi

What will you relate “Bukit Tinggi” to? Berjaya Hills Resort? Colmar Tropicale? I will relate it to nice and cheap foods + fresh river fish!!!

Recently I tried out a nice restaurant -- “Loong Sing Seafood Restaurant” at Kg Bukit Tinggi, on the way back to George’s hometown Karak. The place got a lot of similar restaurant and is just next to Karak Highway.

This shop is famous of their steam frogs 生煲田鸡and fish paste西刀鱼滑. We only able to try their fish paste, since their frogs is out of stock that day.

Fish paste with mushrooms 三菇清炒西刀鱼滑 (RM22) . Their fish paste is made using 西刀鱼so is very springy and fresh.

Yong Tau Fu.. RM1 for each..

It’s a big one, and full of filling.. Bentong’s Tau Pok (豆卜) texture is different from KL one, it’s very soft and nice. KL Tau Pok’s texture more like plastic and hard to chew.

Stir baby watercress (Only RM4!!!)

Ginger wine chicken 姜酒鸡 (RM16)

This is the best of all – Claypot Cat Fish 生煲白须公 I never try cat fish as nice as this one!! The fish is so smooth and can melt in mouth!! I can’t think of any words in English to describe it..香滑可口，入口即溶。。It taste so sweet and don’t have those “mud” smell that normally river fish should has. It is only cost us RM27, do you believe it??

This delicious meal is only cost 6 of us RM88. A very nice number!!

Is the food and price tempting? To get there from KL, follow Karak Highway, slow down your vehicle when approaching Bukit Tinggi. Follow the direction of Kg Bukit Tinggi. There are a lot of restaurant around the area with the signboard showing fresh river fish, just look for the Restaurant name "Loong Sing Seafood Restaurant", it should be at your right hand side.

After meal, you can always continue driving further to Bentong, to try out the Kow Po Ice Kacang recommended in my last post !

Kow Po Home Made Ice Cream

What will you do in the hot, warm and sunny afternoon? I will go for a cooling dessert to cool me down!!! Cooling dessert? Ice Kacang, ice cream or cendol? What if I want them all??

Don’t say I am “siao” (crazy..) You can always get this combination at Kow Po Coffee Shop at Bentong, Pahang. Even it’s a “Coffee shop” but I don’t think anyone will drink coffee there. They are well known with their home made ice cream, which is really nice.

Kow Po Coffee shop situated along the main road leading in and out of Bentong.. It is just opposite Bentong's bus station and next to Hong Leong bank. If you are not sure, you can just drop by and ask for direction. This shop is really popular and well-known so you most likely will get the correct direction from anyone around Bentong.

I don't have map for it but just a name card.. Obviously, Tan Kow Po is the boss and the shop is named after him. He is a kind and friendly "Bentong Ice Cream Uncle".

This shop has been featured in newspapers and visited by many famous people.

Their signature dessert is ABC Ice Kacang Kow Po Special, priced at RM3 a bowl.

You may also order only the ice cream.. Their ice-cream tasted different from the commercial types. The texture is very smooth and melts quite quickly, which means that less preservatives are used to make the ice-cream. I can't find any similar type at anywhere else.

My lovely niece, Tong enjoyed her ice cream so much..Come on and join us!!

Penang Cultural and Nature Trip - Butterfly Farm

After our failed mission at Penang National Park, we decided to go for a successful one - Penang Butterfly Farm, which just around the corner from National Park.

Penang Butterfly Farm has a population of 4,000 live tropical butterflies from 120 different species. It is a well designed landscaped garden with a fish pond, and with thousands of tropical butterflies flying freely in the farms.

I am actually kinda scare of all these butterflies and insects, so I didn't pay much attention to recognise them. Here are some photos of the butterflies, you may tell me their name if you can recognise any of them.

Other than butterflies, there are also a mini zoo consisting live collection of small insect and reptiles such as grandis lizards, beetles, horned toad, oriental water dragon and many more.

It's a really nice experience eventhough i never fancy of insects and reptiles.

Penang Cultural and Nature Trip - Penang National Park

Penang is one of my favorite states to visit in Malaysia. It’s rich with cultural, nice foods and nature spots.

I tried out one of the nice Banana Leaf restaurant “Passion of Kerala” located at New World Park during my last visit with my family: my sisters – Jolene and Esther, my nephew – Vick and Jet, my mum and grandpa.

The waiter uses Banana Leaf as plate and put tomato rice together with some side dishes on it. The rice is free-flow, so it’s really enough for big eater like me.

We can also order some side dishes like chicken, fish, prawn and vegetables. One of their signature side dish is fried bitter guard. It’s so crispy, and because it fried with some Indian spices so it didn’t taste bitter at all.

It's now advertisement time!! If you happen to be in New World Park, please also drop by Boutique – “Beaugro” just opposite Passion of Kerala. It’s owned by my aunt and you can get some souvenirs, clothes and fashion accessories from here!!

Okay, advertisement over. After lunch,we visited Dhammikarama Burmese Temple and Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram (Thai Buddhist Temple), which located opposite each other at Burma Lane. This offer tourists a good comparison between Thai and Burmese approach to Buddhism display where temple architecture and decoration is concerned.

Dhammikarama Burmese Temple was the first Buddhist temple to be built in Penang in 1803.

Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram is most notable for its Reclining Buddha Statue. The statue is the 3rd largest of its kind, being 33 meters in length.

We pay only short visit of these temples because mum and grandpa is tired, so we sent them back to aunt’s house.

The next day George, I and my sisters woke up early to visit Penang National Park. We never know that Penang got a National Park, and we have no idea what to do there. So I and my sisters wear really “casually”—shorts and slippers there….

As usual, George was driver and tour guide to Penang National Park, but in fact this is just his second times to Penang. The park is located in the north western corner of Penang Island, on what resembles an outline of a face. The main entrance to the park is located near to the fishing village in Teluk Bahang at the end of Batu Feringghi, about an hour drive from Georgetown. Alternatively, you can take Rapid Penang bus no.U101 from Komtar Bus Terminal to the Penang National Park.

Visitors need to register before and after enter the park at the reception area. It is free of charge. All you need to do is to keep the entrance ticket for validation purposes when you are inside the park.

Next to the main entrance, there’s a nice view of sea and jetties. This is the place where the fishing boats dock. It is also the place for visitors to take boat to Teluk Duyung, Teluk Ketapang, Pantai Kerachut and Teluk Kampi.

We decided to explore on National Park first. There’s a nice built path just next to the sea. Esther, Jolene and me can’t wait to take a nice photo on the beach.

After taken photo, we continued and reach Jambatan Pasir Pandak.

Walk through the bridge; we reached a junction with map and direction boards. There are five major trails with unique attractions: Pantai Kerachut (2.3KM/2 Hours), Sungai Tukun (500m/20 minutes), USM/CEMAC (1.25KM/50 minutes), Monkey Beach (2.62KM/2 Hours 20 minutes) and Light House (3.8KM/3 Hours 20 minutes).

By considering on our strength limit, we would first try to get to the nearest Sungai Tukun. It’s a hiking path, and due to our “casual” wear that really not suitable for hiking, we walked halfway and decided to turn back.

Let’s take a photo with the “Taman Negara Pulau Penang” board as memory. It’s really pity that we can’t continue hiking because of our unplanned “casual” wear.

After I google on the park information: “There are ample avenues to observe and photograph birds, turtles and other wildlife in their natural habitat. The park is ideal for jungle trekking, made all the more interesting by uneven terrain, challenging slopes, and rocky outcrops.

The visitor will have a chance to experience different habitats ranging from sandy and rocky beaches to mudflats, mangroves, a meromictic lake, and tropical rainforest.”

It seems a nice and interesting place to visit. We will definitely come back again!! On the way back we took some photo of flora and fauna near the park.

Before we went off to our next destination, we also took some photo near jetty… I think the view should be better when sunset..

Queen Cleopatra’s Secret Spa at Sedona Ubud

One of the activities that you can’t miss out at Bali is definitely SPA!! Bali really has become the Spa capital of Asia, if not the world! In Bali almost every hotel, no matter how many stars it may have, has its own spa.

I would recommend SPA at Ubud, so that you can enjoy SPA with reasonable price, compare to places like Kuta and Nusa Dua. During my trip to Bali, I tried out Sedona SPA at Ubud which located at Jalan Raya Campuhan.

We didn’t do reservation and just walk in. Luckily there’s available room and we just need to wait for few minutes. Reservation is recommended because they have not more than 10 rooms including 2 couple rooms.

I chose Milk Bath as it said to be Queen Cleopatra’s secret for beauty in longevity! I want to stay pretty forever!! It took about 1 hour 45 minutes and the price is only Rp140,000 – about RM47 only!!! I think can’t find Spa treatment with this price anywhere else.

The description of Milk Bath Spa – “A relaxing massage using combined of technique, followed by our natural selection of milk body scrub. And then body mask. Finally immerse yourself in exotic flowers bath.”

Holly has chosen Javanesse Lulur Spa which is describe as 17 century Javanese royal treatment. It also take about 1 hour 45 minutes and the price is also Rp140,000.

Javanesse Lulur Spa is said to be the must try Spa in Bali– “Treatment begins with traditional massage and followed with a turmeric scrub to exfoliate your skin. Yogurt is gently applied over your skin to smooth. Finally immerse yourself in exotic flowers bath. A true royal treatment it is!”

If you want to experience 鸢鸯戏水 you can choose to have the couple rooms, which has a big Jacuzzi bath tub that can fit in 2 persons..

FRIM trip - Back to the Nature !!

George is tired of the normal movie and shopping weekend, so he suggests go hiking at FRIM. It’s his first time to FRIM; he was so excited and even purposely bought a pair of new running shoes for it!

FRIM (Forest Research Institute Malaysia) is located at Kepong, 16KM away from Kuala Lumpur. FRIM offers all all nature lovers a back-to-nature experience, in which can enjoying the flora, fauna, landscapes and the remains of an old Orang Asli settlement.

The entrance fee of FRIM is RM1 per adult, if drive in need to pay additional RM3. I, George and Holly got this healthy activity with the cheapest price!

We reached FRIM quite late, about 10am. However, we got no worries for the sunlight, because FRIM is a living museum of trees, the trees can cover us well from the sunlight.

For the sake of the first timer - George, we decided to explore on the Canopy Walkway, which located at Zone D. FRIM is quite big so I’ll suggest to go to the information counter for a briefing and purchase some brochures, before exploring the surrounding.

George did quite good preparation, he printed out map he found from web so we skipped the trip to information counter. You can see lot of signboard showing the Zone and place of interest around FRIM, and it’s make the way easier with map, even it’s kind of outdated whereby it didn’t show some of the new places.

To get to the Canopy Walkway, we took the short track -- Rover Track

Go cross this small wooden bridge.

It took about 35 minutes for us to get there.

Too bad the Canopy Walkway was closed for maintenance until 25 May!!

See, father and daughter from Poland was so disappointed. The little princess yawns: “Daddy, let’s go back!” I wonder why the management didn’t put the same notice at the entrance, so that the visitor won’t tiredly hike up and end up with disappointment.

Another thing to take note is we actually need to buy tickets to enter the Canopy Walkway, RM5 for adult, get it at Souvenirs shop, which located at the same building as the Information center. For those who skip the trip to information center like us, you might need to take note on the green signboard on the path to Rover Track; it actually stated the need for ticket, even though it’s not clear enough. The walkway is open everyday from 9:30am until 2:30pm. It is closed on Mondays and Fridays. The reason for its closure in the afternoon is because of the strong wind that blows in the afternoon.

We continued to hike.. up to 1000 kaki!!!

“Oh my goodness.. Now it’s the time to go down”.. My legs was shaking again….George knew that I have minor acrophobia problem so he get me 2 twigs to give me some support. I look so funny and even datuk nenek can walk faster than me, shame….

After ages, finally we reach the waterfall!! Feeling relieved from the stress, I can’t wait to open my shoe and have fun in the water. The water is refreshing and cool. See, Holly also cannot tahan and start playing with the water.

I felt so exhausted and suggest getting some drinks from Malay Tea house, which said to be 15 minutes away. We followed the path to camp site, I was damn tired and being left behind by George and Holly, they walked so fast!!

Lastly .. after the “15 minutes” walk – it definitely longer than that!!! We reached the Malay Tea House, it’s just next to the camp side.

The deco of this tea house is quite nice, very much malay kampung style..

and it impressed us with those antique like old hi-fi, radio, iron and telephone..

We have our tea at the hut outside of the tea house, to get closer to the nature.

This small mug of tea cost us RM6.

There’s a unique tree right outside of the tea house, the leaf are yellow in color! It made me feel like it’s autumn now….

It’s not exaggerated to say FRIM as living museum of trees, as we saw another special tree on the way back to car park. See, the trunk of the tree is so colorful.

The name of this tree is Encalyptus deglupta.

It’s time to fill up our stomach. Holly guided us to get her favorites curry pan mee at Taman Selayang Jaya** – Kam Gei..it’s just opposite Old Town Kopitiam.

We ordered curry pan mee and normal pan mee. This pan mee is too thick, not so nice.

We tried out their濑尿圆 (mean “Juicy meatball”) and cheesy meatball too. To be honest Holly, it’s not nice at all. I wonder why this shop so good business???

Some advice before getting to FRIM:

1) Remember to wear good walking shoes, bring along your towel, drinking water and some foodstuff as there are no shops up in the jungle.
2) Bring along a can of insect repellant especially if you encounter some mosquitoes or other insects along the way.
3) Go to the information counter for a briefing and purchase some brochures/map before you move on.
4) If you want to make it a group trip, a guide can be requested for a fee or RM80-RM100.

Operating Hours and Fees
The operating hours of the park is from 8:00am to 6:00pm daily. Take note that the canopy walkway operating hours is from 9:30am to 2:30pm. Please spare 30 minutes to 1 hour to get from entrance to the canopy walkway. You need to purchase ticket from souvenir shop for the canopy walkway.
If you are driving, the entrance fee to the park is RM5/car else the fee charged is RM1/person. The address and contact number of the FRIM Park:

SS20 Fish Head Noodle & Cendol Lunch

I like to eat fish head noodle very much, but what bothering me is the hassle to pick out all the fish bones while eating. If you have the same consideration as me, you’ll like this fish head noodle shop at Damansara Kim.

This stall provides more choices: Soong Fish Head, Fish Slice and Fish Paste. I always choose Fried Fish Slice Lai Fun, to avoid the hassle of picking out fish bones. Their soup is so tasty and it’s nice to eat with the “Q Q” Lai Fun. If you are on diet, you can choose to have Fish head + Spinach soup, I think this is why I always see lot of office ladies having lunch there.

Other than fish head noodle, another attraction to me will be cendol.

The cendol is smooth and I like the gula melaka so much!! The amount of santan is enough for me, to cover the sweetness of Gula Melaka, but have to admit it's not so healthy..

KL Tower - Wedding dinner banquet

After 5 years stay in Klang Valley, my very first visit to KL tower was to attend Andrea’s wedding dinner. I felt so excited when I received Andrea invitation, because finally I got a chance to visit KL tower for free.. LOL..

Frankly speaking I got really limited knowledge of this tower, so I did a search to know more:

The Kuala Lumpur Tower (officially known as Menara Kuala Lumpur; referred later as KL Tower) is a tall tower located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was built in 1995. It is used for communication purposes and features an antenna that reaches 421 m (1,381 ft), which currently makes it the fifth tallest tower in the world. The roof of the pod is at 335 m (1,099 ft).

The rest of the tower below has a stairwell and an elevator to reach the upper area, which also contains a revolving restaurant, providing diners a beautiful view of the city.”

It was really a nice and memorably experience to have wedding dinner there. The wedding dinner is held at banquet hall of Mega View deck, so we are able to admire the panorama night scene of KL city from the top.

The wedding dinner layout also romantic and heart-warming, however one of the cons point is due to the tower structure, the stage and guest table arrangement is not appropriate, a lot of blockage, that block guests to view the stage programs..

We received special small gifts for the wedding dinner.. a key chain and a KL Tower shape bottle of mineral water with the bride and bridegroom photo on it..

The last dish of the dinner was KL Tower ice cream!!

After the dinner, we admired closer view of different colors of KL Tower :)

*Fantastic* website, it shows only few photos for the rooms, without relate to photo to the room type. Attached also the table of room charge, again, without put in description what is Suite 1, what is Suite 3, why is it call Super suite. I start to understand why Shelyn asked me that question.

I remember I got a brochure for this resort, which is much more details than the website. Went home and search around … Luckily found it..

Okay.. the different between Suite 3 and Super Suite is: Suite 3 is make up of 1 master room attached with Jacuzzi + 2 Small rooms + Living Hall but Super Suite is just 2 master room attached with Jacuzzi + Living Hall , so it’s RM50 cheaper than the Suite 3..So Shelyn, does this answered your question? LOL..

Austin Hill Golf Resort

Without second thought, I recommended Austin Hill Golf Resort when Amanda asked for my opinion on where to stay during her wedding day, at Johore Bahru. This is the best resort i ever stay in JB.

I went to this resort 5 years ago, and it impressed me by the huge room, fantastic facilities and nice scenery. So, I told Amanda to go have a look since it is just nearby her house at Desa Tebrau. As expected, Amanda loves it and rented Suite 3 for us.

This resort looks no different after 5 years! It’s still looks elegance and nice. We checked in quite late that day, because we helped Amanda to decorate her room for her wedding.

Wow.. the Suite 3 is even bigger than the room last time I stayed. It make up of 3 rooms, one huge living room and one small kitchen. The living room is huge and with the panorama view of the golf field.. I bet the living room itself can easily fit in 30-40 people!

The master room is bigger than expected and attached with Jacuzzi + sauna facilities some more! See, Paul can’t wait to jump into the Jacuzzi bath tub!

I got no time to grab the photo of the master room, but you can imagine.. The master room is even bigger than the room in this photo. I grabbed this photo from web, and if not mistaken, this is the room for Suite 1.

On Amanda’s wedding day, we wouldn’t want to waste the nice scenery of this resort and decided to spare sometime to take photo around this resort.

Too bad.. half way taking.. the staff stopped us and told us we need to apply before we can take photo in the resort! This really puzzled us, what a weird rule!

After all this is really a nice resort and worth for the price. Will update the room rate and it's decription...

The best “Bat Kut Teh” !!

This is definitely not the 1st time I recommend my friends about this Bat Kut Teh at my hometown, Kota Tinggi. This is really the best Bat Kut Teh I ever tried so far. Those in Klang cannot compete at all!!!

Kiang Kee Bat Kut Teh, located at Batu 3 on the way from Kota Tinggi to Mersing. It is quite easy to be located as it sat on the roadside, which you can always see lot of cars parking nearby, and a big yellow signboard with name “Kiang Kee”.

The small pondok on the roadside is so obvious and you can’t miss it. They have extended their shop and now even have uniform!

The must have to eat with Bat Kut Teh : A pot of Chinese tea, Garlic, Chilies with Black soy sauce and Yao Cha Kuih!

The uniqueness of this Bat Kut Teh is you can request the boss to add wine and chilies in it.. By adding wine made the soup even tasty and the taste herb even stronger.

With the generous amount of "Bat Kut" and those inner parts.. it really comes with limited amount of tasty thick soup... You can request to add soup, but it's really depends.. sometimes they will allow to but sometimes not..

Another uniqueness is they still use wood charcoal to cook Bat Kut Teh …

This is the boss.. who always busy cooking..

A lot of Singaporean comes all the way down for this Bat Kut Teh… during peak season normally need to queue for an hour for the Bat Kut Teh.. As the regular customer, we will normally ring up for reservation before that.

Believe me, it's really worth trying if you happen to be at JB!

Warung Ibu Oka - Babi Guling

“ Babi Guling of Ibu Oka is something that you shouldn’t miss when you visit Ubud.” You can easily get this tip while you search on foods at Bali. Because of that, our 1st lunch at Ubud definitely to check it out.

After asked around, we had been told that Warung Ibu Oka is just opposite Ubud palace. When we reached that warung, we noticed that it was closed. Looking at the empty warung, I was so disappointed, “Ow.. There gone my Babi guling at Ubud!!”

God must be pity my stomach a lot… I saw a few man carrying board with “Babi Guling ada di rumah”.. Quickly I asked the man, he told us that today they will operate at their house because it’s Bali New Year that day!!! So lucky me, thanks god!

The friendly guy then lead us the way, there were full of people there!! Their seating is just anywhere you can find at low tables under the roof. A man carry the whole big babi to the kitchen... making my mouth watering..

We ordered Babi Guling Special which costs Rp25,000. The Babi guling set comes with a slice of crispy skin, some meat, some fried inner parts and some Balinese chili-vegetable.

The skin actually disappointed me, as it’s too hard, not crispy enough. However, the chili-vege is really nice.. it’s spicy enough and nice to eat together with the meat and rice. Anyhow, this stills the must-try food if you visited Bali.It was a experience to sit together with bus loads of tourists that came from different country, chewing down on Babi Guling.

Saren Indah Hotel - A hidden paradise in Ubud

Our 3rd and 4th night accommodation at Bali was Saren Indah Hotel, which located at Ubud. I booked this hotel because the good reviews from trip advisor, and intend to experience village life at Bali. The way to Saren Indah hotel was so dark and isolated, which make me feel unsure of my choice.

After a few minutes drive from Ubud town, we arrived at Saren Indah hotel. We were welcomed warmly by their front desk. The friendly receptionist served us welcome drinks and so as the beautiful flower, which really swept away all my worries and refresh us from the tired day.

Rooms in this hotel are as bungalow type, with 2 floors. The room we booked was superior garden room, located at first floor with views of garden and rice fields’ background, which cost us USD41 per night included breakfast. The room is tidy and spacious. It looks romantic also with the mosquito net.

All rooms are featuring by balcony too. There’s a lotus pond in front of our rooms. After taken bath, we gather at the balcony for tea, admiring the great night view of this hotel.

The next morning we woke up early to take photo around this hotel. The garden view, lotus pond, padi field and swimming pool all is the nice spot for photo shooting.

Another bonus points of this hotel is the friendly service and the strategic location. It located just 100m of Ubud’s monkey forest sanctuary in the far northern corner of Nyuh Kuning Village. The hotel provides hourly shuttle service to the ubud town, which really convenient us.

This is really a nice and special hotel! With the traditional Balinese design, the surrounding traditional village, rice fields and rainforest, it’s really an ideal place to admire the uniqueness and peaceful of Bali.

"Surprise" Birthday Celebration at Terazo, Bali

The dinner of Day 3 was the surprise birthday celebration for my husband. I had planned that before come to Bali. I do research on web for restaurant with nice food and nice ambience nearby Ubud.

After a few search I found this website: http://www.baligoodfood.com/. It got 5 restaurants under this group. After browse through I chose Terazo Restaurant, which I found it with nice ambience and good review from Trip Advisor too. Without second thought, I email them to make reservation, and make a special request to have Tiramisu + candle as my hubby birthday cake.

When we reached the restaurant, I felt quite satisfied because the restaurant is really nice decorated, just exactly the same as I saw from their website. They arranged us to have the upstairs seats because I request to have more privacy. The waitress is friendly as well, and had a great patient to guide us through food ordering.

While waiting for the food to be served, we took a few photos around the restaurant.

After we finished our food, I hinted the waitress it’s time to serve dessert. Without long wait, all the waiter and waitress started to sing birthday song from downstairs while serving Tiramisu. They sing also the Indonesian birthday song.

My husband felt really surprise and kept laughing. He happily accepts our blessing and blow off the candle. He thanks me for arranged a surprise celebration for him and made it a memorable birthday for him.

By the time we leave, I show my husband a note on the whiteboard next to the washroom. He didn’t realized it while he went washroom with me, neither my sis-in-law.

Shoe's Design Enhancement!!

People who know me will know that I’m a shoes’ lover. Sometime I will just buy shoes for no reason, and keep it in rack then never wear it for years.

Last week while I shopping at Sg Wang, I suddenly recall one of my high heel that I bought from Nine West last year. I keep thinking of the shoes, and suddenly I got an idea to enhance its look.

The shoes’ design is very simple, and, too simple. I then went into a fashion accessories shop, and start looking at those I could use for my DIY project. Lastly and luckily, I found one pair of brooch, which is simple, nice and cheap!! One for RM3.90, total is only RM7.80.

Immediately I took out the shoes when I reached home, and started my project.
This is how the shoes look like before my enhancement.

After I put on the brooch, it looks more elegant now.

Thinking to wear this shoe to match my white color dinner dress, I should add some white color on it too…. I look around in my room, and I got the lace which I bought to decorate my room during my wedding day in year 2007.

OK, so I use it to tie a ribbon on the side of the shoes. It looks nice also.

So, this is the result of my DIY project!!

Day 3 - Goa Gajah, Kintamani and Ubud Palace

We checked out from the Puri Dibia hotel on the 3rd day, heading towards to Ubud. Our 1st stop is the Batik Village.

We are served by a lady, good in tying batik,turning it to nice dress. She designed different style for each of us. This is the way they promote their goods. We are allowed to have a group photo after that.

Even though, the batik really looks nice on me (many says so), but it costs too much. USD100 for one piece!!! So, forget it..

Again it’s lunch time. We requested Jone to bring us for the famous Balinese crispy duck. Instead of Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck Restaurant), the most popular Crispy duck restaurant at Bali, Jone led us to Panorama Hotel and Restaurant for the crispy duck.

Panorama Hotel and Restaurant is located in the heart of Ubud, the restaurant is surrounded by garden, lotus ponds and pool. Our seats were just in between the pool, lotus pond and padi field, the nice scene bring us good appetite for lunch.

We ordered 2 sets of crispy duck set and some other local rice set.

I still think our roasted duck taste nicer than the crispy duck. I wonder why it’s called crispy duck as it is not crispy at all. Scratch head…

However, the other food is quite nice, especially this yellow rice.

After lunch, we stopped by Goa Gajah for a visit before headed to Kintamani.

We need to wear sarong here too. And this time, there were several colors for choice. I chose yellow color to match my green color dress. Nice?

"Goa Gajah (the Elephant Cave), is located in a steep valley just outside of Ubud near the town of Bedulu. Built at least 700 years ago, the cave was rediscovered in the 1920s and fully excavated 30 years later ."

The famous cave entrance is elaborately carved. The carving looks like an elephant if you look at the face's hair; the elephant's trunk is hanging over its ear to the right. Inside the cave is a statue of the Hindu character Ganesh (Ganesa) - half elephant, half boy - from which the temple gets its name. People can pray for getting baby at here.

We headed to Kintamani for Lake Batur and Mountain View after Goa Gajah. It took around 1 hour drive from Ubud. We took a nap in the car, but woke up seeing the rainy and hazy sky. Bad luck!! It’s rained, and we could not see the nice lake and mountain view.. so sad…

It’s ok, things never perfect. So means that I can visit Bali again for this active Volcano!!!

Not being defeat by this disappointment, we go for the next stop, Ubud palace.

As we visited during Bali New Year season, we werelucky enough to see their traditional Barong Dance.

I can’t wait to have a look on the Ubud Market; someone told me there were a lot of things for shopping. However, it’s about dinner time, my father in law can’t wait for dinner either. So, I just dropped by the Ubud market for short while, to do some basic “analysis” on it before I come again the next day.

Jimbaran Beach Sunset & Dinner

After visiting Uluwatu, we headed towards Jimbaran for dinner. As this is a “must have” itenary for all Bali tourists, we decided to experience on dining on the beach, even though I read from Shelyn’s blog that the foods there is quite expensive.

Hoping to save more, we consulted Jone on the price he can offer us for the seafood BBQ dinner at Jimbaran. He offered us set of Rp250,000 per pax, which contains crabs, prawn, fish, squid, veggie and drinks.. We decided to order 3 sets to share among six of us, by considering on our budget and also 3 ladies among us is actually small eater.

We reached Jimbaran beach quite early, while waiting for the sunset, we go walk around at the beach and photo taking.

We waited a while and our foods served. Wow, set for 3 persons is really a lot.. I think it can’t finish by only 3 big eaters though. We all feel lucky as we made a right decision – save money and save our stomach J

Raymond, my father-in-law happily enjoyed the seafood, with the nice ambience, breeze, wave, and romantic candlelight. The foods taste nice also!! Believe it or not, 6 of us with the 3 big eater (me, my hubby and my father in law) can’t really finish the foods for set of 3!!

OK, time for bill.. Overall it costs us around Rp800,000 add up with beers. I think it’s quite reasonable as it was around RM47 per person., and we enjoyed the ambience around there!!

Uluwatu Cliff - Amazing Ocean view

Our next stop after lunch and site seeing at GWK was Uluwatu Cliff Temple. We are requested to put on a sarong before we can go in.

See, Amanda’s clothes matched the sarong color!! It’s nice!! Other than sarong, we need to put on a yellow ribbon around waist too.. This to show respect to the temple...I guess…

On the way we walk, we can see monkeys everywhere. Jone warned us not to wear sunglasses, because here with the most naughtiest monkeys in Bali.. They will snatch your sunglasses away.. just like the snatch thief in Malaysia… shame..

After around 20 minutes tiring walk, we finally reach.. I felt all worth after seeing the breath taking Uluwatu cliff view… it’s amazing!!! The breeze and the waves sounds so perfect. Let’s take some photo ..

The ocean and cliff view grabbed away my attention. After a while only I recall we should also get some photo for the little Pura (Temple), perched on a cliff right at the waters edge. It looks like it will soon drop into the sea.

It's really a nice experience, as we couldn't get the same view at Malaysia.

Bali, GWK (Garuda Wisnu Kencana)

Fine, I would blog on my trip to GWK Culture Park, as a kick start blog for my Bali trip.

We visited GWK on our 2nd day in Bali (1st day used up traveling from KL to Bali). After water sport activities at Nusa Dua Beach, my father in law felt hungry and can’t wait to have lunch. Our tour guide, Jone then recommends us to have buffet lunch at GWK, since it will be our next stop to visit.

After 10 minutes ride, we reach the entrance of GWK Culture Park. We are impressed by the surrounding limestone rock hill, which looks like abandoned construction. Jone explained to us it was built by a king secretively, yet aborted after his death and no one actually know what he actually wanted to build for.

Since my father in law is urging for lunch, Jone lead us to the restaurant before site seeing. However, the restaurant is so nice and beautiful, force us stopped by few times to take photo.

However, there’s disappointment awaiting us. The waiter told us that no buffer lunch for that day!!! Ok, fine, then we can go for ala-carte. It is quite a tough job to order food there, my father in law want only rice with dish, and I have to make decision for them since the menu is in English. I then order a few dishes, which I think should be fine to eat with rice.

Overall the food there is okay. The fried chicken is quite nice, and the rice taste extra good maybe because it was wrapped by banana leave. And one more special dish is Gado-gado, it is something like salad, with eggs, vege, tofu and crispy keropok.

I do a search on it and there’s definition for it from Wikipedia:

“Gado-gado is a traditional dish in Indonesian cuisine, and comprises a vegetable salad served with a peanut sauce dressing. “

After lunch, we went site-seeing around GWK. GWK is the short name of “Garuda Wisnu Kencana” . Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue was designed and built by Nyoman Nuarta, one of Indonesia’s foremost modern sculptors.

On the way we met a tall Barong. I say "Hi" to him but he didn’t reply me and keep chasing after me, scary…

We first visited The statue of Wisnu, which picturing Lord Wisnu, the Hindu God who is the protector (part of the Hindu trinity Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva the Destroyer). The 20 meter tall copper statue of the Lord Wisnu has been placed on the highest hill of Ungasan where visitors can enjoy sunset or sunrise over the magnificent view of Kuta, Benoa and Sanur.

Right behind the Plaza Wisnu is the Plaza Garuda where the 18 meters tall statue of Garuda. The mythical bird (Half man half bird) Garuda is the ride of Lord Wisnu.

GWK is also conceived to be a cultural center. There is an art museum with free admission and kecak dance is performed on Tuesdays and Thursdays admission $5. We didn’t stay for the kecak dance because we are going to visit Uluwatu Cliff and Jimbaran beach in the evening.

Earth Hour 2009.. Do a part for our planet!

Having Pepper Lunch as Valentine’s dinner

Yes, believe in your eyes; Shelyn and I had our Valentine’s Dinner at “Pepper Lunch”. My plan was actually to have our Valentine’s dinner at another restaurant at Pavillion with more romantic ambience. However, it was fully booked. As Shelyn’s guide of Pavillion (She never been to Pavillion before), I brought her to look around for foods.

Finally, we saw this restaurant “Pepper Lunch” at the same floor as “Food Republic”. Since I read about this restaurant from newspaper, and Shelyn told me she reads it from blog before; we decided to try it out.

Shelyn ordered Salmon rice, and I ordered Hamburger beef steak and Chicken combo. We added RM2.50 for drinks and Shelyn added RM0.80 for cheese.

The foods served within few minutes, and the waiter is kind enough to brief us on how to deal with our foods. Our food was served in Sizzling Iron hot plate, and we supposed to do some cooking before eat, since "Pepper Lunch" labeled itself as "D.I.Y Steak Restaurant". There’s a paper label around the Iron plate, warning us for the hot iron plate and showing the steps to deal with our foods.

For Delicious Steak & Hamburger:

Spread butter evenly
Sizzle it till desired done

Lastly, add special sauce (Their garlic soya sauce or honey brown sauce)

For Pepper Rice:

Delicious butter hidden inside

Mix evenly to cook well

Lastly, add sauce!

If it's not clear enough, you can always look at the repeating video show on LCD monitor hanging on the wall.

My Hamburger Beef steak and Chicken combo served with a bowl of Japanese rice. The chicken taste normal but the steak is nice. No wonder it’s the signature dish of this restaurant.

However, I can’t taste any difference for the garlic soya sauce with compare to normal soya sauce. I didn’t try Salmon rice, so I leave it to Shelyn to comment on it.

It cost me a total of RM27.30 for this meal: Hamburger beef steak and Chicken combo @ RM24.80 + Orange Juice @ RM2.50. I think it is worth for the quality of foods and the experience I had in preparing the foods myself.

Chinese Valentine's Dinner at Tony Roma

This year, my hubby and I had early Valentine’s celebration. We decided to have dinner on 9th Feb (Chap Goh Mei) - Chinese Valentine’s Day. The reason was he will be going to Bangkok for one month job attachment starting from 10th Feb, and not able to celebrate Valentine’s Day with me.

Since I love “meats” and “ribs”, my hubby decided to bring me to Tony Roma. He tried this restaurant with his friend before and he thinks its worth to dine at there again. Of cause I agreed with him since I’ve been longing to try out this restaurant also!

Tony Roma has a few branches around Klang Valley : The curve, The garden and Sunway pyramid. We choose to dine at the nearest branch at The Garden. The advantage of having an early celebration is no reservation required, no traffic jam and lots of parking bay available! We walked in and make our own choice of seats, since its Monday and there are a lot of vacant seats.

I look at the Menu for a few minutes, and decided to give up. I think the fastest way to order is to get the waiter’s help. Indeed, within few minutes we decided to follow the waiter’s recommendation and ordered one bowl of soup, one starter, one main course and one cup of free-flow juice. It sounds too little for me, and I’m thinking to add on another main course later.

Here is what we ordered:

Soup:

Baked Potato Soup
Topped with grated cheddar cheese, bacon and chives.

I can’t resist on cheese and bacon... it’s a really fast decision for soup..

Starter:

Onion Loaf
Giant hand-cut Spanish onions, breaded, deep fried and served with our house BBQ dipping sauce

There are two types of serving size: Full @ RM19.90 and Half @ RM16.90. My hubby intended to go for full since it’s only RM3.00 different. (My hubby is always good in calculation) However, the waiter advised us to take Half Loaf instead, because we have only 2 persons and full loaf will be too much for us. After consider sparing our stomach for main course, we ordered Half loaf as recommended.

Main Course:

Roma Rack
3 pieces of Beef ribs with 2 choices of side dish

Again, now is the choice between Roma Rack @ RM49.90 and Full Rack @ RM69.90. The waiter recommended us to take Roma Rack which consist of 3 pieces of beef ribs. Even though I think 3 pieces are too little for both of us (people who knows me will understand this, I’m definitely not a small eater), however, looking at the sincerity of the waiter, I decided to follow what his recommended. (Actually I’m thinking to try other main course if really not enough later on..hehe..)

They served us a small piece of French Bun with garlic butter in short while.
Then follow by Free-flow mango juice.

After few seconds, here come the baked potato soup.. This is the best soup I ever try… even it’s a bit salty, but it’s thick enough and smell and taste really nice. I’m satisfied with the generous amount of bacon also.

The Onion Loaf served few minutes later.. It tastes exactly like Onion rings except it stick together, and you need to separate it out before put into your mouth. I start to feel full, after finish the half of the Half Onion Loaf!! I decided to stop because I still want to enjoy our main course – The ribs…

Finally, here comes the Roma Rack… It looks so crispy and delicious. It was really awesome - a little crispy on the outside, but the meat was still soft enough to come off the bones easily. They are prepared with some special red sauce that tastes nice with meats… After finish one piece, I surrender myself; too full… and let my hubby had the other 2 pieces. My stomach got no more rooms for other main course and dessert! And we still got 2 side dishes, half bowl of soup and half of half loaf onion! This rarely happened to me as I have the well-known bottomless stomach!

Lastly, we requested the waiter to help us “tapao” the Onion loaf and fries, and asked for bills. The total bill cost us RM85, and the waiter told us to vote for him online by providing the bill number, if we think his service is good. He told us he can get a reward if he been vote as the best service staff of the month.

Here I would like to take opportunity to say sorry to the waiter, I do think that he provided us a good service, but I can’t vote for him, because I misplaced the bill. By the way, I think this kind of competition is really good to motivate the staff to perform, at the same time to build up company reputation by provide good service to customer.

My Valentine's Celebration

This year I have a very special Valentine's celebration.. I'm not celebrating with my hubby, but with my best friend - Shelyn ! My hubby and her bf was away to Thailand for works, and we two lonely ladies, decided to make it a special day for ourselves..

Before we decide on what to do on this day, Shelyn asked me: "What are the things you can't do with your hubby?" Without a second thought, I replied: " Sing K lor.. my hubby doesn't like to sing." Hmm.. it's truth, but this is not a special things to do on this special day.. After that I told Shelyn: " Why don't we pamper ourselves with Spa treatment on that day? and we can go shopping as well.." "Ya," this time Shelyn reply spontaneously, "I can't shopping with Don"..

So, it's decided, and later on Shelyn sent me a link to Jojoba promotion, RM260++ for Valentine spa package for 2 pax, and asked me to call for reservatation.

I called to reserve the package on 14th Feb, 2pm. I asked the receptionist whether it's located at Times Square, she answered me yes. She confirmed my booking and told us the price will be RM299 for non-member. I then confirmed with shelyn that booking done, without notice that I've actually done something wrong.

On Valentine's day, I'm so happy and reached Times Square on 1:20pm. Shelyn was late because it's crowded and hard to get carpark in Times Square. Lastly she able to reach on 2pm and we proceed to Jojaba Spa located at Level 15 of Times Square Hotel.

After we reach, we told the receiptionist that we have reservation on 2pm, but they are not able to find our record in their list. They told me i might call to the wrong branch for booking as many peoples done the same mistake. Honestly, I about to get angry and going to show them my black face, because I'm so confident that I called the correct branch, and think that they don't admit their mistake. I show them the number that I call, very confidently, and then so embarass that that lady told me i actually called to Rimba Spa at Royale Bintang ! I was like "Har? Really? Die lor".. coz i would have let Shelyn down, and we can't enjoy our Spa, because it's too late to rush to Royale Bintang ..

Luckily the lady is nice, she then told us we can go for another package but not the Valentine package because the room with shower facility are occupied. She then recommend us Jojoba Ultimate which cost RM280+ per pax. However, it's over our budget. After seeing us in a pity face, the lady went to her manager and come back to us with a good news. They agree to offer us for RM299++ for 2 pax for the Jojoba Ultimate package. That's nice! Shelyn and I agree and proceed to the treatment.

Our treatment first start with Ear Candle treatment, together with shoulder and ear massage. I felt so comfortable and felt asleep. I don't really know what the therapist did, just noticed she put a candle into my ear, and massage my shoulder and arround my ear.

This is what i found from web, some details on ear candle treatment:

After the ear candle treatment, we continue with Aromatherapy massage. The therapist massage technique is really good, even better than Thai massage i did at Phuket. I was so comfortable and sleep again, until she woke me up and ask would I allow for breast massage. I agree and then they continue for the breast massage.

After massage here come Aroma eye pillow treatment. After that it end with facial and mask treatment. The 120 mins treatment ended with a fresh and awaken me, I'm quite satisfied with this treatment. While waiting for Shelyn for changing her clothes, the therapist showed me my ear wax from the ear candle treatment.. Wah, it was a lot, and I really don't know when they collected that.

Time to pay, it cost us RM343.85 after added tax for 2 pax. I think it's worth for the treatment and service we received. Another good things is they didn't waste our time by doing their marketing to persuade us to join as member. I will definitely make Jojoba my choice for next Spa treatment.

My Bali Trip Planning

Bali is one of the favorite places to visit of mine, so as my husband's. My husband want to make the trip different than all the other island tour we had previously, this time he wants to make it a family trip! We invited my hubby family to join, our parents and siblings, total 7 of us. I able to get zero air fare tickets from air asia on last year June, it's pretty cheap, only RM300 per person.

Since this is not really a small group, and involve parents, we decide to make sure all the tour and hotel is book before we reach there. This is to confirm our parents will have worry-free tour .. After few survey, we decide to book the hotel and tour package thru one of the Bali local travel agent - Bali Amazing tour.

The package they offer for tour package, cost USD40 per person, including:

- Day 1 - Day 3 tour
- Transport, driver, chinese speaking tour guide ( consideration for our parent as well)
- Entrance Fees
- Parking

We are required to add on USD50 per person, if we want to include 3 x lunch + 3 x dinner as well. USD50 for 6 meals means around RM30 per meal, which i don't think it's worth. Other than that, the food that they offer are those chinese style food. I think we should try balinese food since we should experience it. We can have chinese food everywhere in Malaysia, why would i stick to chinese food when i am visiting other country? I would rather try Babi Guling, Crispy duck...and those i read from my best friend's - Shelyn's blog.. lol

Anyway, I didn't turn it down rightaway, i told them i will consider and let them know when i reach there. As for hotel, they recommend us to stay in Kuta and Ubud area. Since we are on 6 days 5 nights trip, it's rather heavy for the expenses on recommendation. To save some money, we decide to stay in budget hotel, those 3* hotel in Kuta for 1st -2nd night and 5th night, which cost us about USD30 per room per night.

As for the 3rd - 4th nights, i requested them to help arrange us to stay in Saren Indah, a 4* hotel in Ubud, http://www.sarenhotel.com/ Saren Indah located just 100m of Ubud Monkey forest, nestled between rice fields and tropical rainforest. I think it should be quiet and peaceful to stay. The main consideration of mine is, it offer free shuttle bus to Ubud market, very convenient for shopping on our free and easy day on the 4th day!! Other than that, this hotel also received quite good rating from Tripadvisor, which give me more confident on it.

I'm counting down to the Bali trip right now, which is my 1st trip in year 2009. Hopefully it will be a nice one, and i'll blog it down from Day 1 to Day 6 when i come back!

Am now creating my own photo album .. thinking to add in my honey's and my childhood photo, and all the photo taken during our wedding photo shooting....

My ex-colleague recommended me a website http://www.pixart.com.my/ Their price for the album is quite affordable. But then their template is really limited.. since i like to design a lot, i used other software to collate and layout all the photos, then only import in the pixart template..

It's interesting to design your own album.. You can make it as a story board... print out all your travel photo, arrange it in a meaningful and memorable order.. I think there are a lot of other tools that can be used.. I'm working on and off, only manage to come out with 12 pages out of 24 pages.. Really urge to finish it fast, so i can see the output asap..!
